Even better, you can buy the ones from cables4less or other amazon sellers for as little as $5-$10. I bought a dvi-hdmi cable from them and it works perfectly - the quality is great. There are hundreds of people that have bought from them on Amazon and posted positive reviews.

The setup you are suggesting works fine - the PBG4 can play the DVDs. For sound cables, just make sure and get a decent 3.5mm headphone jack to RCA cable - don't bother using any of those extra plug converters. The Apple Store will have some.

I remember when I had a PBG4 I used Front Row for all my DVD/Video/Music when connected to a TV. I've since used Front Row on my MBP connected to my LCD HDTV and it works fine. Unfortunately, you won't have the convenience of a free remote, but there are some third party ones available. Alternatively, you can use a wireless mouse if you want.

there is no major difference between $20 and $300 cables. Buy the cheaper ones. I use the extreme hd one and you can get it at local apple store for $20.
