I’ve talked before about how I don’t use Twitpic simply because I don’t want my photos stored in yet another place online. I like my Flickr account and like having all my photos in one spot. That said I do like the ability of twitpic to send out links to photos on the Twitter and have often wished that worked with Flickr and Twitter. Since as of yet they haven’t implemented that, I started thinking about how to do it myself. I use Twitterfeed to autopost new blog posts to Twitter, and that runs off an RSS feed which Flickr also provides for my photo stream. That should work the same way right? Well, we’ll see. I’ve just created a Twitterfeed for my Flickr recent posts RSS feed so keeping my fingers crossed, but that could be the solution I’ve been hoping for.
Looks like it worked!

Flickr also generates RSS feeds for tags, so if you only wanted to post your photos tagged “twitter” you could easily do that.
And for those who are RSS shy, try Twittergram–

Same concept, automated on their end.

I’m sure there are tons of ways to do this, but I’m looking for drop dead simple with as few steps as possible. adding tags to photos I’m posting from my phone while on the road is an extra step I don’t think I want.

Using Twitterfeed worked great for me, however, I did notice some delays from time-to-time.
Lately, I’ve been using posterous.com I email a photo to my posterous address and it adds the pic to whatever services I specify in initial setup (blog, flickr, facebook, twitter, etc) or any combination.
Stupid-simple and seems to be nearly instantaneous.

I have battled with this for a while; where to send my mobile photos and which ones should be posted to Twitter. At first I just sent the photo to all of them but realized it annoyed me when I saw the same photo from someone on all these different networks. Then I just started using Twitpic but feel like those get lost after the initial post. Lately I have been sending them to brightkite and having those go twitter but I’m feeling the same thing that you mentioned above, I want all my photos in one location.
I think I’m going to do what Rick suggested and setup a feed for a tag that only shows up for photos that I email in which for me is only those that come in from my iPhone like “moblog”. That should solve all my issues.

I took your idea and ran with it. I also didn’t want to have to add tags, but I want to be able to throttle down what gets posted to Twitter.
Turns out that Flickr lets you add default tags to the photos you post via e-mail and Twitterfeed lets you filter by keywords. So I set Flickr to add “iphone” and “moblog” to stuff that I post via e-mail (which is how I post stuff from my phone) and I set Twitterfeed to filter by the same two keywords.
I haven’t tested it yet, but it should mean that only the stuff that I post from my phone will go to Twitter.
